Lecture Video: Animation with Dr Marco Gillies

Over the next fortnight or so, I’m going to be posting up some videos of lectures from the first term of Year One of our undergraduate programmes. I’ll post them here but, so people can find them easily, I’ll also collect them together on a new page called ‘Video Lectures’  – up there ^

So here’s the first one – Computer Spectrum: Animation

Thinking of postgraduate study? Find out more!

Are you interested in postgraduate study? Why not find out more by taking part in our web chat?

Register for the web chat here.

We will have programme leaders and current students taking part so it’s a really good opportunity to ask them anything you like about any of the following programmes:

OPEN DAY: Come and visit us

You might already know that Goldsmiths is holding an open day on February 15th. You are warmly invited to come and find out more about Goldsmiths. In particular, we want to draw your attention to the presentations being delivered by the Computing Department about our courses. Talks will take place at the following times:

3.00pm UG programmes talk
3.45pm Computing masters programmes talk
4.30pm CAST masters programmes talk

National Student Survey: See how our students rate us!

The National Student Survey is exactly what it says on the tin. Each year students across the UK are asked to rate their programme of study in several areas including: teaching, quality of assessment and feedback, academic support and personal development.

The Department of Computing at Goldsmiths works hard to be friendly, supportive, and offer students the best possible experience while they study with us. So we’re delighted to see that so many of our students feel we’re doing just that, and even more pleased that we’ve scored higher in almost every area than we did in 2010!

Even so, we’re not going to stop there and we will continue to aim for improvement year after year – after all, we expect the best from our students and so it’s only fair that you can expect the best from us. Take a look at our high marks here!

Web Chat Success!

Yesterday we ran our first web chat for applicants and people thinking of applying for one of our undergraduate degrees. It was really good for us to listen to our applicants’ questions and gave us an opportunity to hear from people who want to find out more about our programmes.

We will be posting up a transcript soon so that our blog readers can see what other people were asking us.

We will also be running another web chat shortly for postgraduates so if you’re thinking about one of our postgrad programmes then either watch this space or email admissionstutor[at]gold.ac.uk or r.hepworth[at] gold.ac.uk  for further details.
