The Department of Computing at Goldsmiths College offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in a lively, research-led environment.
The department currently has 25 members of academic staff, 8 support staff and approximately 350 undergraduate and 12 postgraduate research students.
Staff research interests include program transformation and analysis, algorithms, networks and artificial intelligence.
The department has four computer labs with around 100 networked computers available for student access.
It also has a number of network servers running Unix, Linux and Windows operating systems.
The department is to play a central role in developing a new interdisciplinary research centre within Goldsmiths College,
the Centre for Cognition, Computation and Culture. The Centre will be investigating creative uses of IT and new media,
and computational modelling of cognitive and cultural processes.
