January is over and the days are getting longer, so we’re in the mood to post a list of fifteen things from the past 12 months that we’re proud of.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. We set up a playable library of computer games<\/a> in the ground floor of the library.<\/li>\n
  2. We ran our best ever Digital Arts Computing exhibition<\/a>\u00a0in April<\/li>\n
  3. Our academics shared their research with students on Wednesday afternoons<\/a>. More to come soon…<\/li>\n
  4. Our Music Computing students set up Resolution<\/a>, a programme of live music and visual performances<\/li>\n
  5. Hacksmiths ran a ton of amazing events, including Non Binary in Tech<\/a>,\u00a0Global Game Jam<\/a>, Anvil Hack<\/a>, and our Welcome Week student get-together DoC.Hack<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  6. We hired Eilidh Macdonald<\/a> to be our Industry Employability Champion who develops opportunities for placements, internships and other collaborations with employers.<\/li>\n
  7. We ran an international art & tech symposium \u2018Future Mind<\/a>\u2019 with our new friends at Kyoto University<\/li>\n
  8. Post Doc Researcher Perla Maiolino exhibited at the Science Museum\u2019s ROBOTS show<\/a><\/li>\n
  9. Our EAVI (Embodied AudioVisual Interaction) research group ran a brilliant day of audiovisual workshops<\/a> and performances at the ICA<\/li>\n
  10. We launched five new online courses in Virtual Reality<\/a><\/li>\n
  11. Our students\u00a0were on primetime BBC1 telly<\/a><\/li>\n
  12. We took part in an acid house revival<\/a><\/li>\n
  13. Sex Tech Hack 2<\/a>!<\/li>\n
  14. Our students won a prize at the Living Data City Challenge<\/a> hackathon in Eindhoven<\/li>\n
  15. London Evening Standard<\/a> named senior lecturer Dr Kate Devlin \u2018one of London\u2019s most influential people of 2017\u2019<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
