Her software the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wekinator.org\">Wekinator<\/a> was also used by Chicks on Speed member <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/alxmurrayleslie\">Alex Murray-Leslie<\/a> in a performance titled <em>The Liberation of the Feet<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.memo.tv\/category\/work\/by-type\/\">Memo Akten<\/a>, IGGI PhD student and 2013 winner of the top prize at Ars Alectronica, exhibited two pieces: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.memo.tv\/fight\/\">FIGHT<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.memo.tv\/learning-to-see\/\">Learning To See<\/a>.\u00a0He also gave a talk titled <em>Intelligent Machines That Learn: What Do They Know? Do They Know\u00a0Things?? Let\u2019s Find Out!<\/em> at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aec.at\/ai\/en\/symposium\/\">AI Other I symposium<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/210166591\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Creative Computing graduate <a href=\"http:\/\/terencebroad.com\">Terence Broad<\/a> received an honorary mention for the Prix Ars Electronica in the Computer Animation\/Film\/VFX category, for his work <a href=\"http:\/\/terencebroad.com\/autoencodingbladerunner.html\">Autoencoding Blade Runner<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Goldsmiths researchers Prof William Latham and Lance Putnam showed <a href=\"http:\/\/mutatorvr.co.uk\">Mutator VR<\/a> in the festival&#8217;s gallery spaces,\u00a0with continuous queues for 5 days.<\/p>\n<p>Former PhD student <a href=\"http:\/\/marcodonnarumma.com\">Marco Donnarumma<\/a> received an Award of Distinction in the Prix Forum II &#8211; Digital Musics and Sound Art category for his performance work <a href=\"http:\/\/marcodonnarumma.com\/works\/corpus-nil\/\">Corpus Nil<\/a>, which he co-produced during his PhD while working on our Meta Gesture Music project.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aec.at\/ai\/en\/\">About Ars Electronica<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gold.ac.uk\/computing\/studywithus\/\">Study at Goldsmiths Department of Computing<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Goldsmiths Computing staff, students and alumni showed up in force at this year&#8217;s Ars Electronica festival of\u00a0art, technology and society.
