Here&#8217;s what&#8217;s coming up&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>6.30pm Thursday 3 November<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gold.ac.uk\/calendar\/?id=10096\">Goldsmiths Showoff: Strange days<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nComedy and cabaret in the pub featuring a line-up of Goldsmiths experts including Kate Devlin on the algorithms of online dating, Sylvia Pan on virtual humans, Sarah Wiseman on the quantified self, and Dee Harding on so-called experts.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>4.30pm Monday 7 November<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gold.ac.uk\/calendar\/?id=10243\">Lecture: What can Deep Neural Networks learn from music?<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nDouglas Eck (Google Brain) discusses Magenta, a project to generate music, video, images and text using machine intelligence.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>4pm Wednesday 9 November<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gold.ac.uk\/calendar\/?id=10217\">Lecture: Linguistic and perceptual colour categories<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nChristoph Witzle (Justus-Liebig-Universit\u00e4t Gie\u00dfen) discusses his work investigating how linguistic colour categories may be related to colour perception.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>4pm Wednesday 16 November<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gold.ac.uk\/calendar\/?id=9657\">Lecture: Cultural Computing: Looking for Japan<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nRenowned media artist Naoko Tosa discusses the role of information technology in enabling new understandings of a multicultural world.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>4pm Thu 17 Nov\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">NEW!<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gold.ac.uk\/calendar\/?id=10281\">Lecture: The Hearing Body<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nTalk on\u00a0using of sound to change people\u00b4s experiences of their body and the surrounding space, as well as its impact on emotion and behaviour.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>6.30pm Thursday 17 November\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">NEW!<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gold.ac.uk\/calendar\/?id=10248\">Talk and performance: Unreal-time improv and actual-timeline composition<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nComposer and improviser Panos Ghikas discusses his research developing a live performance interface for navigation through audio-timelines with the purpose of re-sequencing audio gestures.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Friday 18 &#8211; Sunday 20 November\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">NEW!<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gold.ac.uk\/calendar\/?id=10205\"><strong>I am human: precarious journeys<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nFeaturing interactive design by Goldsmiths Computing and music by Brian Eno, Sue Clayton\u2019s multimedia installation traces the journeys of refugees as they navigate the perils of the sea, the national border and the camp.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Sat 19 &#8211; Sun 20 November<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.adventurexpo.org\">AdventureX: Narrative Games Convention<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nNow in its sixth year, AdventureX is a free event bringing together developers &amp; gamers with a passion for interactive storytelling. Her book <em>Working the Cloud<\/em> is aims to\u00a0help businesses better use the Internet.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>4pm Wednesday 23 November<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gold.ac.uk\/calendar\/?id=10275\">Characterising human imagination through art and science<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nSheldon Brown (Arthur C.
