Find out why Kate and Ilenia have been in the Goldsmiths&#8217; news!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>We are delighted that our very own <strong>Dr. Kate Devlin<\/strong> has been featured on Goldsmiths&#8217; website as part of the student-led <em>Visible Women<\/em> Campaign:<\/p>\n<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gold.ac.uk\/media\/kate.JPG\" alt=\"\" name=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"164\" \/><\/h3>\n<p>\u201cI have a huge amount of respect for the women who have shaped modern computing &#8211; from the women patch cable operators programming the early computers to fantastic individuals like Grace Hopper, who invented the first compiler. You can get past the tiredness with plenty of coffee; the challenge comes in overcoming the bugs to make the game playable and fun.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tell us a little bit about the game you\u2019ve created<\/strong><br \/>\nIt\u2019s called \u2018Defeat the Tweet\u2019; the object of the game is to direct a 3D bird through the letters coming out of one of your previous tweets.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What has been the value of collaborating with world-renowned advertising agency M&amp;C Saatchi?<\/strong><br \/>\nI\u2019ve learnt how to work well as a team, working with professionals rather than just my fellow students. It was difficult at first but I soon adjusted to the environment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What advice would you offer students considering taking the MSc in Computer Games &amp; Entertainment at Goldsmiths?<\/strong><br \/>\nIf you like programming games then go for it.
